Family Of Issac Goodlow Wants Answers After He Was Shot By Police While Unarmed During Mental Health Crisis

Isaac Goodlow, a 30-year-old man, was fatally shot by Carol Stream #police during a domestic violence call at his home in Villagebrook Apartments Saturday morning in February. His family and attorney, Andrew Stroth, claim he was in the midst of a #mentalhealth crisis due to his bipolar disorder. Goodlow was described as a calm and non-threatening individual who was unarmed when he was shot.

The Carol Stream Police Department's Deputy Chief and Acting Chief, Brian Cluever, stated that officers encountered a highly tense and rapidly evolving situation upon arrival. Two officers involved in the incident have been placed on paid leave while the investigation is ongoing, and their identities remain undisclosed.

Goodlow's family, represented by Attorney Stroth, is demanding answers and alleges that Goodlow was unjustifiably shot during his mental health crisis. They have not been allowed to view the body-worn camera footage and have sent a letter to the mayor and police chief of Carol Stream, urging them to release the evidence and seek justice in this case.

The community demands accountability and transparency from police, including the prompt release of body-worn camera footage. Our heart goes out to the Goodlow family.
