Brandan "BMike" Odoms (@bmike2c), a visual artist from #NewOrleans, has been involved with the Know Your Rights family since the New Orleans camp and joined the #Detroit camp to inspire youth through art. He found the Detroit camp to be one of the largest and appreciated the intimate breakout sessions that allowed for personal engagement with the participants. Brandan draws parallels between the resilience and pride of people in New Orleans and Detroit, feeling a deep connection to both communities. In his art sessions, he emphasizes that being an artist is about imagination and envisioning alternatives to the present, hoping to inspire young people to use their creativity as a powerful tool for organizing and building a better future.
